Vehicle and pedestrian traffic is
a constant concern in and around Alta
Loma High School. Here are some common
issues resulting in citations to parents
and/or students. Included are suggestions
for reduced commuter problems. Pedestrians,
students, or parents who fail to comply
with vehicle code laws, local traffic
ordinances, and/or uniformed staff
will be subject to citation.
Motorists Parking for Student Pick-up
and Drop-off may only park or stop
their vehicles in areas that are NOT
posted by sign or by painted curb
lines. Motorists may not stop or park
their vehicles next to a RED CURB;
or a posted "NO PARKING,"
"NO STOPPING," "FIRE
LANE," "HANDICAPPED"
sign, etc. Motorists may not park
or stop their vehicle by a YELLOW
CURB while school buses are staging
for student transportation. Parking
and/or stopping is provided at WHITE
and GREEN CURBS unless otherwise specified.
Motorists may not Double Park (Park
or stop a vehicle in a traffic lane
next to another parked or stopped
vehicle) anywhere on Basline Road
to pick-up or deliver students.
All motorists must STOP (Complete
cessation of movement) at the STOP
sign at the Western most exit of the
A.L.H.S. parking lot prior to turning
right.
Motorists may NOT make ANY Left Hand
Turns from either of the exits from
the Western A.L.H.S. parking lot.
Left Hand Turns from the turnabout
exit directly in front of A.L.H.S.
are prohibited between 7:00 A.M. to
8:00 A.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00
P.M.
It is the responsibility of each
and every motorist making Left Hand
Turns from the Eastbound median of
Baseline Rd. into the Westbound parking
lot of A.L.H.S. to make the turn safely
and to yield to all opposing traffic.
Students/Pedestrians must use the
crosswalks at Vineyard Ave. or Carnelian
St. to walk across Baseline Rd. Any
person crossing Baseline Rd. outside
the crosswalks provided is Jaywalking.
Motorists must obey all written and
posted signs on campus related to
school parking and vehicles must display
a proper Parking Permit if applicable.
