Vehicle and pedestrian traffic is a constant concern in and around Alta Loma High School. Here are some common issues resulting in citations to parents and/or students. Included are suggestions for reduced commuter problems. Pedestrians, students, or parents who fail to comply with vehicle code laws, local traffic ordinances, and/or uniformed staff will be subject to citation.

Motorists Parking for Student Pick-up and Drop-off may only park or stop their vehicles in areas that are NOT posted by sign or by painted curb lines. Motorists may not stop or park their vehicles next to a RED CURB; or a posted "NO PARKING," "NO STOPPING," "FIRE LANE," "HANDICAPPED" sign, etc. Motorists may not park or stop their vehicle by a YELLOW CURB while school buses are staging for student transportation. Parking and/or stopping is provided at WHITE and GREEN CURBS unless otherwise specified.

Motorists may not Double Park (Park or stop a vehicle in a traffic lane next to another parked or stopped vehicle) anywhere on Basline Road to pick-up or deliver students.

All motorists must STOP (Complete cessation of movement) at the STOP sign at the Western most exit of the A.L.H.S. parking lot prior to turning right.

Motorists may NOT make ANY Left Hand Turns from either of the exits from the Western A.L.H.S. parking lot. Left Hand Turns from the turnabout exit directly in front of A.L.H.S. are prohibited between 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

It is the responsibility of each and every motorist making Left Hand Turns from the Eastbound median of Baseline Rd. into the Westbound parking lot of A.L.H.S. to make the turn safely and to yield to all opposing traffic.

Students/Pedestrians must use the crosswalks at Vineyard Ave. or Carnelian St. to walk across Baseline Rd. Any person crossing Baseline Rd. outside the crosswalks provided is Jaywalking.

Motorists must obey all written and posted signs on campus related to school parking and vehicles must display a proper Parking Permit if applicable.
