SENIOR AGREEMENT: The graduation exercise will be conducted with honor, pride and respect for all participants. The graduation exercise is not a mandatory function, seniors do not have to participate. Those seniors that do elect to participate in the ceremony will be expected to conduct themselves in such a manner that will make their parents proud. In order to receive your graduation tickets and be able to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 11th you must agree to and sign the Senior Agreement/Behavioral Conduct. Any senior who causes any discipline problems during the remainder of the school year may not be allowed to participate in any or all graduation activities. Parents are also asked to make the same commitment. (See attached Senior Agreement)

FINES, CHARGES, DEBTS: By action of the Board of Trustees, a senior who owes money to the school will not be allowed to participate in Commencement. Charge lists are posted in the Student Store and the Library on May 9. Any charges must be cleared by June 11th. IT IS THE SENIOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THESE LISTS TO SEE IF THERE IS A CHARGE.

CAP AND GOWN: NO cap and gown will be issued if the student has any charges owing in the Student Store or the Library. We have scheduled May 21st to students with the last names A-L and May 22nd to the students with the last names M-Z to issue caps and gowns during both lunches. These dates may be changed if delivery is later than we anticipate. Students may pay for their cap and gown thorough the Jostens representative at the Senior Parent meeting on February 1st and 2nd in the quad during both lunches, the cost is TBA including tax. We strongly encourage early planning for graduation accessories and costs. Students who have not yet ordered a cap and gown will be issued one, after payment is received. This late order will be from the extras the company will send on a first-come, first serve basis. Please check the contents of the plastic bag. It should contain a cap, gown, tassel, and keepsake medallion. Report any problems to the Jostens Representative concerning your package. Read order form carefully.
Dave Olbright, Jostens Representative --(714) 744-2838

SENIOR FAREWELL BRUNCH: The Senior Class and their parents sponsor the Farewell Program. The following Code of Conduct will be in effect for the Farewell Program:
1. Appropriate Dress: Beach wear or similar attire is not acceptable. Although this is not a formal occasion, we believe the atmosphere of the program will be enhanced by good taste in dress.
2. Appropriate Behavior: Any disruptive action will be cause for denying the offending student the right to participate in the commencement program.

BACCALAUREATE: The Baccalaureate program will begin at 11:00am on June 8th in the ALHS Auditorium. SENIORS MUST REPORT N CAP AND GOWN to the front of the auditorium no later than 10:30 am to form the processional. We are working hard to ensure a ceremony which is non-denominational, inspirational, and uplifting. Attendance is optional. We do not insure tickets and seating is on a first -come, first -serve basis.

COMMENCEMENT TICKETS: Each graduating senior will receive 6 tickets. Student I.D. Card, signed Senior Agreement and completed Senior Check-Out form will be needed. These tickets will be passed out on June 5 & 6 at lunch in the auditorium.
**NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED TO COMMENCEMENT WITHOUT A TICKET**

  • COMMENCEMENT SEATING ASSIGNMENTS: The audience will sit on both sides of the stadium so the seniors will be divided into two sections. Tickets are issued for either the North or the South side, depending upon the seating of the graduate. The enclosed map will help you understand the field layout, parking and the place of entrance. Only graduates will be allowed on the field . After the ceremony parents or family members will not be allowed on the field. It is suggested that family and friends meet with their graduates outside the stadium after the ceremony.
NORTH & SOUTH ENTRANCE: The assignments have been made alphabetically. Scholarship honorees are usually seated together. As students lose eligibility for graduation, changes may have to be made to fill seats, but these changes will always be on the same side of the field where your student is seated.
    NORTH SECTION SOUTH SECTION
When the seniors pick up their graduation tickets the envelope which they are in will state which side they will sit on "N" (North Side) "S" (South Side). They will get their exact seating assignments at graduation practice.

GRADUATION CAP: At graduation, the cap should be worn straight and level and not on the back of the head. Girls are advised to bring hairpins since there nearly always is wind at the college. The tassel is worn on the LEFT SIDE of the cap until the commencement ceremony has been concluded and the signal is given to move it to the right side.

COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL: The Commencement ceremony is important to the seniors and to their parents and represents the last time the class will be together as a group. We try to present a uniform and attractive appearance to the community. The effectiveness of the program depends to a large degree, on the rehearsal and on each senior knowing his/her seat and role. Therefore, attendance at rehearsal is mandatory, and any senior who does not come will be denied the opportunity to participate Wednesday evening. Each senior must be in parking lot #8 adjacent to the tennis courts at Chaffey College on June 11th @ 11:00AM, and must remain through the entire rehearsal. Staff and Senior Class Officers will be there to assist. Once seating assignments are made, we expect the seniors to honor them.

PICTURES: PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD DURING THE CEREMONY TO TAKE PICTURES. However, we have contracted with University Photo to take a picture of each senior as he/she receives the diploma. Within 14 days you will receive a color proof and an offer to purchase a 5X7 picture (larger quantities are available). The offer will be made only once and no one will call you or solicit your business other than the one letter.

DIPLOMAS: Seniors receive only the diploma cover in the commencement ceremony. Diplomas will be issued after the ceremony on the east side of the field by counselors and throughout the following week at Alta Loma High School by the registrar in the records office.

GRADUATION NIGHT PARTY @ Disneyland: The event is available to Alta Loma Students only. Tickets will cover admission and transportation. Students I.D. Cards will be required for ticket purchase. Be advised that the site will declare certain rules and regulations they feel necessary for the safe and orderly function of the party. IMPORTANT: only those properly dressed will be admitted. No one can drive their own car to grad night. Buses will leave Alta Loma High School. Cars should not be left at Chaffey College overnight. The Senior class will hire security to be in the west lot of ALHS from when they leave until they return.
