Work Experience allows students to get a glimpse into the working world. Whether to gain responsibility, experience, or financial support, students enrolled in the work experience program benefit greatly.

This elective requires students to obtain work permits and experience job environments.
WE8525 General Work Experience I/IV

Work Experience Education (WEE) class allows students with part-time jobs to earn high school credits for the work ethics and skills they are learning on the job. There are three types of Work Experience Education:

General Work Experience class is for students who are 16 years or older and are employed in a part-time job that meets the class criteria. Students may earn zero to 10 credits each semester depending upon the number of hours worked, work experience classes attended, and homework completed.

Vocational Work Experience is for students who are 16 years of age or older and are employed in a part-time job that meets the class criteria, for which they have completed vocational training (such as auto mechanics or office clerk), and/or meets their future career goals. Students may earn zero to 10 credits each semester depending upon the number of hours worked, work experience classes attended, and homework completed. Student may earn a total of 40 Vocational Work Experience credits towards high school graduation requirements.

Exploratory Work Experience is for students who are 14 years or older and are doing volunteer service in a job or community site that meets the class criteria. Students may earn zero to 10 credits each semester depending upon the number of hours volunteered, work experience classes attended, and homework completed. Students may earn a total of 20 Exploratory Work Experience credits towards high school graduation requirements.
